Radha Beauty's Fractionated Coconut Oil DIY Recipe

I use coconut oil quite often in my beauty recipes.  I'm always looking for quality fractionated oils to try.  Radha Beauty is an excellent source for just such an oil.  It's guaranteed pure! I liked it enough to add it to a batch of lotion bars I recently made.

What is Fractionated Coconut Oil?
As the name implies, fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the coconut oil from which almost all the long chain triglycerides are removed, thus leaving mainly the medium-chain triglycerides and making it an absolutely saturated oil. This saturation gives it a very, very long shelf life and greatly increased stability.

In addition, fractionating raises the comparative concentration of Capric acid and Caprylic acid, thus giving it more of antioxidant and disinfecting effect. The fractionated coconut carrier and massage oil by Radha Beauty creates a smooth barrier on your skin, but will not clog your pores.  Coconut oil has a light-weight feel and absorbs so nicely that I really liked it and I thought would work perfectly for many of the DIy beauty recipes I make.  Check out my DIY coconut oil recipe for lotion bars below!

Radha Beauty's coconut oil is always odorless, colorless, non greasy & non staining.  I can't tell you how many times I ruined clothing by spilling a staining oil on them while making my beauty goodies!

Homemade Coconut Oil Lotion Bars

Equipment
saucepan
lotion mold, can use muffin pan or tins of any shape

Ingredients
1 part Coconut Oil
¾  part Pure Beeswax
Essential Oils (Optional)   Use about 10-15 drops per 3 ounces

Directions
Heat coconut oil and beeswax together in a saucepan over low heat. It helps if you break up the beeswax into small chunks because it takes a while for the wax to melt. Once the beeswax and coconut oil are melted add essential oils. I like to use vanilla and lavender.
Pour melted coconut oil and beeswax into lotion bar molds or  muffin tins. Let them sit until cool. You can also place them in the refrigerator if you need to speed up the process.
