DIY Argan Oil Hair Serum Recipe with NorthCoast Organic Argan Oil

Argan oil always does wonders for my hair, but a lot of the so called Argan oil treatments I see at the store also add lots of chemicals.  One brand I checked the label on did not have the oil listed until the very bottom.  I was being cheated.  The truth is, Argan oil works perfect all by itself, and those chemicals are not needed.  I started making my own hair treatments a year ago, and I'm sharing my favorite recipe for it below.  It's very easy to make!

I was sent NorthCoast's 100% Pure Argan Oil to try out and I was pleased with it. It had the requirement of being organic, was definitely very pure, and my hair was nice and shiny, and very smooth.  I also use it as a moisturizer of course.  It's perfect for massaging into dry feet and rough elbows! The oil is shipped via air freight from Morocco, cold pressed, certified organic, and hand-made by the local Berber women in all-female co-opts.

A little bit about the ingredients:

  • Argan oil – a rare hand-pressed oil from the fruit kernels of the Moroccan Argan tree. Argan oil is rich in vitamin E, carotenes and fatty acids. It absorbs quickly without an oily feel – yet it’s very hydrating and helps to balance hair – especially split ends and damaged hair. Argan oil is great for ALL hair types – dry, damaged or color-treated, oily and normal hair.
  • Ylang Ylang essential oil – this oil is sweet and flowery (it reminds me of plumeria or gardenia flowers) with a romantic scent. Aromatically, the scent is calming and relaxing (and help with nervous tension). It’s used in hair care products in Asia to promote soft, luxurious hair.
  • Geranium essential oil – this flowery fragrant oil creates an amazing scent mixed with Ylang Ylang. Geranium is also great for strengthening hair.
Serum Recipe
  • 2 oz. pure, organic Argan oil
  • 10 drops of Ylang Ylang oil
  • 5 drops of Geranium oil
  • 5 drops of Cedarwood oil (optional)
