Radha Beauty's Fractionated Coconut Oil DIY Lotion Bar Recipe

I use coconut oil quite often in my beauty recipes.  I'm always looking for quality fractionated oils to try.  Radha Beauty is an excellent source for just such oil, and it’s the one I choose to use daily. It's guaranteed pure! I liked it enough to add it to a batch of lotion bars I recently made. I have shared the recipe below for you to try.

What is Fractionated Coconut Oil?

As the name implies, fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the coconut oil from which almost all the long chain triglycerides are removed, thus leaving mainly the medium-chain triglycerides and making it an absolutely saturated oil. This saturation gives it a very, very long shelf life and greatly increased stability.

In addition, fractionating raises the comparative concentration of Capric acid and Caprylic acid, thus giving it more of antioxidant and disinfecting effect. The fractionated coconut carrier and massage oil by Radha Beauty creates a smooth barrier on your skin, but will not clog your pores.  Coconut oil has a light-weight feel and absorbs so nicely that I really liked it and I thought would work perfectly for many of the DIY beauty recipes I make.

Coconut Oil for Skin and Hair Care

For those with dry skin, this product can help act as a natural moisturizer. It has plenty of essential elements the skin responds to well. This includes helping to clear up acne when it is used as a facial wash. Too many of the acne products on the market have harsh ingredients in them that should be avoided.

The product can help with reducing signs of aging including fine lines and wrinkles. Millions are spent annually on such products but few of them work as they claim. Using a natural product that can offer more benefits to the skin and it is also affordable makes sense. It is a very easy fix for cracked heels, dry feet, and dry elbows.

The hair also benefits from the product. Being out in the sun, spending lots of time swimming, and even the use of styling tools and products will take a tool on the health of the hair. Applying the product for 20 minutes and then rinsing out will help to keep it soft, prevent splitting, and promote healthy growth again.

Homemade Coconut Oil Lotion Bars

lotion mold, can use muffin pan or tins of any shape

¾ part Pure Beeswax
Essential Oils (Optional)   Use about 10-15 drops per 3 ounces

First, heat the coconut oil and beeswax together in a saucepan over low heat. It helps if you break up the beeswax into small chunks. Once the beeswax and coconut oil are melted add essential oils. I like to use vanilla and lavender.
Pour melted coconut oil and beeswax into lotion bar molds or muffin tins. Let them sit until cool. You can also place them in the refrigerator if you need to speed up the process.
